Who Are We?
The Local Authorities on Wildlife in Nunavut
The Kugluktuk Angoniatit Association (KAA) is the Hunters and Trappers Organization (HTO) for the community of Kugluktuk, Nunavut. HTOs are the local authorities on wildlife in Nunavut under the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement.

We are mandated to protect the rights and interests of Inuit hunters and trappers in our region. The proposed Grays Bay Road and Port would cut straight through our traditional harvesting area — threatening the Dolphin and Union caribou herd that our community depends on.

The Caribou Herd
The Dolphin and Union caribou herd is central to the culture, food security, and way of life of Kugluktuk harvesters. Our community has depended on this herd for generations.

The proposed Grays Bay Road and Port (Project 125987) would cut straight through our traditional harvesting area — threatening the migration routes and habitat of the herd in ways that could be irreversible

Sign the Petition to MPO
Add your name to our petition to the Major Projects Office (MPO), calling on them to disqualify the Grays Bay Road and Port as a Major Project under the Building Canada Act.
